If you say "bae" / you get slapped in the "fae"
A batman slap robin post.
A comic book panel of Batman slapping Robin across the face mid-sentence. It comes from World's Finest Comics #153, published by DC in 1965. In the original, the slap has nothing to do with the jokes that would later be written over it. It's one of the few classic formats that's a comic rather than a top-and-bottom caption. Robin's speech bubble gets a bad idea, a tired joke or an annoying opinion. Batman's bubble gets the sharp correction that cuts it off. Robin: "We could just fix it in production-" Batman: "WE TEST FIRST." Robin: "Let's get pizza again tonight-" Batman: "WE HAD PIZZA THREE TIMES THIS WEEK." Robin: "Just one more episode-" Batman: "IT'S 2AM." Batman's face says he's been waiting all day to do this. Robin's face says he didn't see it coming, which, for a sidekick, is a worrying lack of awareness. **Why it caught on:** everyone has a sentence they'd love to stop halfway through.
