The top line sets up an innocent-sounding phrase, the bottom line twists it into something you wouldn't say at a family dinner. The tamer ones lean on gaming puns - her Morph Ball, a Pokémon "super effective", the old trick of blowing into a game cartridge. It's a meme from the era when anime-style fan art of game heroines was everywhere, and nobody asked the heroine. Samus, for the record, still has an arm cannon. **Why it caught on:** a famously serious, armoured hero shown as the opposite was the whole joke, and teenagers found it hilarious.
