two arrows in the head / "must be my imagination"
A skyrim stan post.
A horned iron helmet from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda, 2011), on a blue color wheel. It's the look most players recognise from the game, and here it stands in for every Dragonborn - the player's hero. The hero of Skyrim can slay dragons, shout people off mountains and absorb souls. He also can't walk past a basket without picking it up. Captions describe the game's logic as if it were normal life. "Slay a dragon" / "run from a bear." "Eat 40 cheese wheels mid-fight" / "totally fine." "'You are carrying too much to run'" / "spend an hour deciding which spoon to drop." "Make 600 iron daggers" / "suddenly a master blacksmith." And: "Out of arrows" / "use the one in my knee." It's affectionate mockery from people who put hundreds of hours into the game and would happily put in hundreds more, right after one more side quest. **Why it caught on:** an open world that strange produced a lot of stories, and players needed somewhere to tell them.
