A Courage Wolf post.
A snarling gray wolf on an orange-and-yellow color wheel. The photo, "Snarling Gray Wolf", was taken in Montana by nature photographer Jeff Vanuga. The meme rose on 4chan in late 2008 as a spin-off of Advice Dog. Advice Dog gave terrible advice cheerfully. Courage Wolf gives terrible advice at full volume, with teeth. By April 2009 it had more posts on Meme Generator than the dog it came from. The top line is a problem, the bottom line a solution no therapist would sign off on. "Fear of heights?" / "Climb everything." "Life gives you lemons" / "squeeze them into its eyes." "Alarm didn't go off" / "you are the alarm." The wolf doesn't want you to be your best self. It wants you to fight your worst self in a car park. Its unhinged twin, Insanity Wolf, takes the same energy somewhere much darker. **Why it caught on:** it's the friend who believes in you a little too much, and sometimes that's exactly what Monday needs.
