Vengeance Dad Meme Generator
An old studio family portrait, the late-1970s or 1980s kind: mother and two children smiling in front, and the father's giant face superimposed beside them, staring with grave seriousness. The double-exposure was a popular portrait effect at the time.
Nobody knows what the photographer intended. The internet decided Dad is plotting something, and that the family is fine for now.
The captions follow a strict pattern: "They did X" / "I did something horrifyingly worse." "They laughed when I dropped my ice cream" / "I laughed last." "They forgot my birthday" / "I forgot their asthma medicine." "They wanted a bedtime story" / "I made the evening news." The humour is pitch-black and completely out of proportion, which is the point.
The real family almost certainly had a lovely day at the studio and a perfectly nice dad. He just happened to wear the moustache and the glasses at the exact angle of a man who never forgets.
Why it caught on: an awkward family photo plus overkill revenge is a combination the internet can't resist.
